DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 2015 PART 2: Day of Exploring

Time went so fast on this holiday I didn't go on many trips out but the first one I went on we got to drive our own buggy's through the sugar cane fields and up some very bump and hilly roads.

Motorbikes, there are as many if not more than there are cars.
Cane fields for endless miles.

Driving further where we experienced horse riding, cigar making and a look into the coffee and cocoa beans fields.

View from where we were.
I didn't do the horse riding but I loved the coffee and cocoa beans along with vanilla, all local produce and all things I love!

They told us the whole process of their produce.

Different types of beans

After driving through the sugar cane fields, looking at cigar making and local coffee beans, vanilla and cocoa, which we all had an opportunity to buy, and the horse riding; if that wasn't enough we had a chance to zip line as well! We explored so much just driving through and learning more about what the Dominican Republic has to offer, originally I had no idea what I was going to do here.

Along the roads...

Afterwards we had some time at a beach but I wasn't too interested in that - took some lovely photos, absorbed the beautiful view in the heat and then went back to the hotel after a long day exploring the island.

This excursions was such a full packed one but it was great to see everything. It really makes you see the different culture and lifestyle they have compared to your own and see the differences and beauty within other areas of the world.

Have you seen Part 1: Around the Hotel ? Let me know what you think of the pictures!

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC 2015 PART 1: Around the Hotel

For my annual summer holiday last year I got to go to the Caribbean. I have been to the Caribbean before, to places like Barbados and Saint Lucia but on this time I went to the Dominican Republic.
View from the Plane.
My flight was via Paris, which I totally would of loved to stay. I had never took a flight to Paris before, always the Eurostar train, but seeing the airport I totally loved it! It's only a forty-minute flight from London to Paris, shortest flight I've ever been on but then I had the much longer flight of 9 1/2 hours to the Dominican.

Paris Airport.

This holiday was totally the perfect time to relax and chill but being me I couldn't 100% relax - I'm more of the person who likes going out and doing activities this rather than sunbathing all day which I don't get how people can do that all... day!?

This section of the beach was only for the hotel guests where I spent most of the morning chilling out. The weather was too hot for me to stay out all day.

The hotel itself was amazing to stay at, mostly filled with lots of activities, including water sports and pool side entertainment.

Not a great shot, the lighting at night tho. Also people selling artwork and jewellery were out every night.

One of the restaurants - food was amazing! There were a few restaurants to choose from which was great as I don't like buffets.
View from the restaurant.

Our room got upgraded!

Jacuzzi outside on the balcony.

The view from my hotel room..
Walking out from our room was a lovely pond with fishes, flamingos
...and peacocks.
Along the path with bars next to the pools.
Along the path from the lobby, room and beach.
A few things in the hotel shop.
This café! Coffee every morning whatever time I woke up plus a few cakes ;)

View from the lobby. Opposite was where weddings would take place.
There were loads of weddings happening there.

Same view from the lobby on the sides.

The driveway and exterior of the front of the hotel.

Of course I had to explore more of this island, the excursions/trips I went on will be in my next post!
